SonicMood lets you make your own Moods - customization is a big feature of SonicMood. There is a built-in editor where you can specify any 3 of the 128 available MIDI instruments for a Mood, along with the octave range each instrument plays in, what musical scale they use, and what the timing relationships are between the notes created. There's really much more than that, but that gives a general idea of the power of SonicMood's creative capabilities. And once you've got a group of instruments set up, you can add up to 16 nature or other sound recordings to the mix - per Mood! SonicMood provides 21 nature sounds like rain, thunder, birds, and more with the download. Take a look at our Sharing page for even more. You can add your own, too. The combination of instrumental and recorded sounds makes for "Ambient Music" at its best.

You can record the instrumental sounds using SonicMood's built-in MIDI recorder. Or you can use a program like Rogue Amoeba's "Audio Hijack Pro" and record everything SonicMood plays, including nature sounds. Copy into iTunes and play on your iPod when you're away from your computer. Include with your own compositions if you'd like - we won't mind.
