Picture and Image Files
Here are many beautiful scenic photos than you can add to SonicMood’s “Picture Window”, if you’d like. Just click a photo's thumbnail to view the image in full resolution, then drag it off to your desktop, a folder, etc. (Photos Courtesy PDPhoto.org)

We've added more graphics to view using SonicMood's "Picture Window," courtesy of another of our fans, Eduard Schwan (

Mood files
If you have created Mood files or Soundfiles, or recorded any MIDI files, that you'd like to share with others, you may post them on the Forum or email them to us here and we'll add them to this page. You can save one or more Moods to a file by selecting them in the Moods list and then clicking “Save Selected Moods...” from the “File” menu. Give this new Mood file a name and a place to save it and you’re done. Or click “Save Mood File As...” from the “File” menu to save all the Moods in the list to a new Mood file.

Jess Driskell, one of our long-time fans, has created a series of files that contain "binaural beat" recordings. They are downloadable
below.
Update (March 15, 2025): He has just contributed 3 brand new Moods, two of which also use "binaural beats" to add to their effect! Very beautiful and relaxing!!!

Adding Moods:
To add the Moods in a Mood file to those already in SonicMood you can just "drag & drop" the file onto the list of Moods in the main window. To completely replace the Moods with the ones in the file hold the "command" (
) key down while dragging.

Adding Soundfiles:
Add soundfiles to those already in use by opening the "edit" window and clicking the "Soundfiles" button in the toolbar to go to the "soundfiles" page. Just "drag and drop" a soundfile, or a whole folder of soundfiles, onto the list of soundfiles there.

Adding Both:
If you have a folder that contains both Mood files and Soundfiles, you can just drop the whole folder onto either the list of Moods or the list of Soundfiles. You can even drop a folder that contains nested folders of Mood files and Soundfiles. SonicMood will sort thru the files, ignoring files of the wrong type, and copy the Mood and Soundfiles to the appropriate places.

These zipped Mood files contain one or more Moods (Use these Mood files only with SonicMood v4.8.6 or later).
(they are all very small files and should download in a few seconds)

Moods by Patrick:
Patrick's Moods.zip
A truly wonderful collection of 29 completely unique Moods, very rhythmic - some fast, some slow
Slow Waves.zip
More great Moods - 7 Moods that are tranquil and beautiful!
Sonic Out.zip
Patrick has "taken it to the next level!" He's recorded a Mood as a soundfile and used that as background for another Mood. To hear them together you must add the soundfile provided. See above for directions.
Sonic Out SoundScape.zip
Here Patrick has three Moods (including the one from "Sonic Out", above) that play along with Moods he's recorded in soundfiles. Again, don't forget to add the soundfiles to SonicMood as described above under "Adding Soundfiles."
Walking and Jumping.zip
Two Moods, the title Mood "Walking & Jumping" and another Mood "Solo" that was used to create the included MP3 file that you play as background accompaniment. This is a brisk, jazzy, fun Mood. Very lively and enjoyable.
Celestial.zip
Patrick’s latest AMAZING Mood. It includes a soundfile he created by using Rogue Amoeba’s Audio HiJack Pro to record a second Mood (included). This zip file is fairly large due to the size of the MP3 soundfile (5.2 MB)
Rhodes.zip
A slow, calming Mood, featuring three Rhodes Pianos. It is a quiet joy to listen to.
Serenity.zip
Four moods, similar but with subtle variations in scales, note pattern. All very beautiful.
Tiny Wood.zip
As Patrick says: “The sound of wood is good for everyone.” This is a relaxing Mood featuring wood sounds.
Seashore.zip
The calming sounds of waves on the beach and shore birds calling.
PolyMood.zip
Eight Moods using different musical scales and timings to achieve unique results. The last one is especially interesting, and surprising!
Celestine.zip and Cloud II.zip
More incredible sounds by Patrick, using SonicMood.

Moods by other contributors:
WailingWetness.zip
An unusual Mood, to say the least! This one is by Robert Mitton, a fan of ours.
Bamboo Forest.zip
A nice Mood using xylophones to sound like bamboo. I'm afraid I did this one...
Asian Tidepool.zip
An excellent Mood with a Southeast Asian flavor. This one is by one of our loyal customers, Julia Truchsess. Thanks Julia!

Soundfiles
Each .zip file is a folder which contains multiple
Soundfiles:
(the .zip file sizes vary but are not too terribly big)

Sound Files 2005-08-27.zip (1.5 MB) [rain, thunder, wind/water, horse, whale sounds]
Sound Files 2006-09-01.zip (2.8 MB) [rain, forest/jungle, and beach sounds]
Sound Files 2008-02-14.zip (7.5 MB) [trains, city, water, and small animal sounds]
Sound Files 2008-05-09.zip (1.7 MB) [a collection of bird sounds and foghorns]
Sound Files 2008-08-19.zip (1.7 MB) [crickets, jays, rain & thunder, falls & river]
Maui Birds early am.zip (1.5 MB) [birds on Maui at 6:30 am]

OK, this is really something. Jess Driskell, another long-time SonicMood aficionado, has created a series of "binaural beat" soundfiles, and some Moods, that you can add to SonicMood! Included in these downloads are very well written "Read Me First" files, by Jess, that explain what they are and how to use them. Enjoy! :)

Sound Files Binaural Beats.zip (10.4 MB)
Binaural beat loops files spanning Delta, Theta, Alpha, & Beta freqs.

The_Soloist.zip (46.4 MB)
A Mood of bell-like tones (Crystal) at a moderate tempo. It uses the same key and instrument settings as one of its soundfiles, Evensong_3_Short_6-Voice, whose MIDI notes were generated by SonicMood, but then "reworked" in Apple Logic Pro. The effect is one of a drone-like background with chimes which seem to sing along.

Wandering_Rhodes_Binaural.zip (2.2 MB)
A Mood of constant Rhodes-piano tones to provide a background for sleep, whether you need random sound to fill the silence or to mask annoying ambient noise. The binaural beats help relax you, and are in the frequency range which are also supposed to promote healing.

Wind_Chimes_Binaural.zip (9.9 MB)
A Mood of slow bell-tones (Tinkle Bell) intended to simulate the slow and random sound of wind chimes, with a background of soft rain and insect noise, and a foundation of binaural beats.

MIDI files
This is just a start. On a lark I recorded one minute's worth of Patrick's "Taiko Rhythms" and five minutes worth of "Slow Tempo Key Step C# Minor", both of which can be found in the Mood file "Patrick's Moods.zip". I used SonicMood's built-in MIDI recording capability.

The third file, "windy_day.mid" was sent to me by Holly Daggers and is the background sound to her video "ubahn blur" which you can see on our
Creations page.

One thing about MIDI (.mid) files, they don't take up much space! These files are so small I won't even compress them! If you click one and it starts to play, you can download it by right-clicking and selecting "Download Link..." You can play a MIDI file back using the QuickTime player, or drop it on iTunes and iTunes will play it. You can use iTunes to convert it to MP3 by selecting "Convert Selection to MP3" from iTunes' "Advanced" menu.

Taiko Rhythms.mid (24 KB)
Slow Tempo.mid (60 KB)
windy_day.mid (37 KB)

MP3 Audio Recordings
These are creations of Patrick’s. He used SonicMood to create the basic MIDI instrumentals, then “embellished” them.

Beauty Begins.MP3 (9.0 MB)
Beauty Lies.MP3 (8.4 MB)
