SonicMood generates ambient musical sound patterns which are not quite random and not quite repetitively rule-driven either. I sometimes think of them as "random-with-a-guiding-hand."

Coincidentally, just before I discovered SonicMood, I was inventing a very similar idea, except I was creating visual imagery. I wanted the computer to create "ambient art patterns and worlds" so that I could pick a new number, and a unique new piece of art would emerge. So far I have created 3 different "World" modules (similar to SonicMood's Themes), and in each world, I can choose a million different Scenes (similar to Moods.) Recently I thought that some of this artwork would be a perfect match for displaying along with SonicMood's music. So I would like to offer a selection of these images as visual backdrops for SonicMood's Picture Window, or slide shows, music videos, or whatever you would like.

The imagery is generated by a free "ray tracer" program called POV-Ray (you can learn more about it at http://www.povray.org), and I am designing these "worlds" in POV-Ray's graphics language (which looks a lot like the C computer programming language.) The artwork could also be made to "morph over time" to create movies.
